Personal insights

Deck the Walls receives the best of Hallmark’s recipe: a Christmas one-horse town, character development over Christmas, and the kind of romance that surrounds the family. Its concentration on a charitable cause makes it even more meaningful, making one understand the essence of giving rather demanding. Rose and Brysen’s relationship’s progression brings a decent amount of force onto the viewers, which is further intensified when one considers that the characters have returned to their houses during the holidays.

Cultural significance

Hallmark has always made movies with themes of Thanksgiving, reconciliation and self-improvement. All themes will invariably work but they are perfectly matched for that audience who appreciates exploring the nuances of returning home and reuniting with loved ones. Focussing on helping others also enthusiastically notes how giving and caring is a major facet of Christmas.
